Decibel Charts of Aircraft over Prospect Park, Bedford-Stuyvesant and Park Slope, Brooklyn en route to La Guardia
Daily decibel readings of aircraft en route to La Guardia Airport as they pass over Historic Park Slope, Bedford-Stuyvesant and Prospect Park. Anything over 65 dBA is illegal, but the Port Authority and FAA think that as long as they can fatten the airlines' coffers at the taxpayer's expense -- the very same taxpayers who are paying their salaries -- and get away with it, why not? Apparently, as far they are concerned, it's perfectly all right to crop dust residents of Brooklyn with toxic jet fuel emissions and subject their hearing to levels of noise scientifically proven to shorten life span and cause disease. Our hometown "The Brooklyn Paper" has published an article by journalist Stephen Brown about the invasion of aircraft over Park Slope and Prospect Park. You can read his article here.
