The aircraft noise makes me feel upset and irritable. My sleep is disrupted; I wear noise-cancelling headphones or earplugs--even in bed--so I can fall asleep and keep windows closed as often as possible to reduce the noise, but it doesn't do the job.  The noise goes so late at night and starts so early. I am tired all the time because of sleep disruptions.

My experience of my beloved neighborhood (where I have lived for 12 years, Prospect Heights) has been affected a great deal because my joy in visiting Prospect Park, the a walk in the neighborhood, or even the gorgeous Botanic Gardens has been diminished because of the aircraft noise. The planes fly right over everything that is great in this neighborhood and so low that I can see the landing gear, the aircraft name, etc. I dread the sound of the airplanes when they approach and and breathe a sign of relief when the sound is gone, only to be concerned about the next plane approaching (as it does, nearly every minute).

When, on rare days, the planes fly higher, I remember how much I loved my neighborhood and Brooklyn and feel better and more energized.

Noise pollution adversely affects everyone's health.
